Where to begin?
You'd think an author would have no trouble writing about themselves, but I always find it difficult to introduce myself - I never know what to say. Which is surprising since I'll "talk the leg off a chair" as they say. I think it's the ADHD - I'm either shy or won't.shut.up - seldom finding that sweet spot in between.
So, anyway... about me!
I'm from Melbourne, Australia, where I live in an extremely messy house, with my husband, child and a lazy floofy cat. I'm not going to give my age, but let's just say I was born way back in the 1900s.
Romance is a big passion of mine - I'm a sucker for books and movies with a romantic plot, even if it's corny and cheesy - I love it! I collect "vintage" romance novels, the ones with the old fashioned swoonworthy covers that feature Fabio-esque shirtless dudes worshiping women whose clothing always seems to be half falling off. I have them displayed on shelves all around my office so I canappreciate them in all their saucy glory <ahem> preserve important literary history before paperbacks become forgotten treasures!
I'm also a fan of fantasy and sci-fi, with a fairly hefty collection of Star Wars novels (well over 100 paperbacks at this point, proudly displayed on shelving above my desk). I even do sci-fi themed Christmas trees and have a TARDIS cookie jar! The geek flag flies loudly and proudly in my house.
Costuming is another of my hobbies, as well as sewing and crafting in general. I have a couple of superhero and Star Wars cosplays (very amateur I'll point out, don't get too impressed!) and medieval, steampunk and renfair costuming is right up my alley. My "office" is a sewing room with a computer desk and enough fabric to almost run my own fabric store. Unless my husband is reading this, in which case... my fabric stash is definitely modest, and I could always do with more.
I'm an avid gamer - anything from tactical shooters to cozy farming games. Being able to tell annoying kids that "Yes, I'm a girl and I've literally been gaming for longer than you've been alive" is always satisfying!
