With book 2 in the editing phase now, it feels like forever since I wrote the first outline for the story that I began back in 2024. See how that all unfolded in my blog post here.
The journey has been amazing, I've spent so long with the characters now that I love them dearly and I will feel sad when I'm no longer in their world.
Book #1 will be coming out within the next few months. I don't have a timeframe yet, some things are still being worked on in preparation for it, and then Book #2 will be published sometime next year.
However that won't be the end! I do have a few ideas already percolating around for a "Tales of Ta'nai" which would be a collection of short stories where I can delve into the lives of some of the other characters from the other tribes. Especially the Wukto’parù - I've established that they have dragons, but I've not had the opportunity to do anything with that yet, and I'm excited to explore the idea. I contemplated bringing them in during Zü's visit there in Book 2, but I felt that it would detour the actual story too much, so that wasn't the right time or place for it.
I'd also like to continue Zü and Qiiraa's story if readers would like to come along for the ride. She has a spaceship and although she's perfectly happy with her feet on the ground now, I'm sure she could be persuaded to have a brief little journey somewhere, if she had reason to... <insert evil laugh here>. Dragging poor Zü along (very reluctantly) and giving him a taste of being the "fish out of water". There's also the issue of those pesky Pùg’parù who keep causing problems and are surely up for a fight!
